School Holiday Drum Lessons

Daytime lessons at my home studio in Labrador.

Every sixth lesson is freeBook five and the sixth is on me.

One on one drum lessons through the summer holidays, in daytime slots while the kids are off school. A relaxed way to try drumming for the first time, or to get a good chunk of progress in while there's time to do it properly.

The Dates

Before Christmas

Monday 30 November to Thursday 17 December

After Christmas

Monday 4 January to Monday 25 January

Lessons run Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day in both blocks. Book as many or as few as you like, in either block or across both.

Between the 18th of December and the 3rd of January my availability varies, so if you'd like a lesson over Christmas or New Year just ask and I'll tell you what's open.

A note on the first two weeks. Queensland state schools don't finish until Friday 11 December, so the start of the before Christmas block suits adults, homeschool students and anyone whose school has already broken up. School students are best from Monday 14 December onwards.

Why the Holidays

During term, my studio lessons mostly run after school and in the evenings, since that's when students are free. The holidays are different. The school I teach at during the day is on holidays too, so my daytime hours open up. That means daytime lessons for school students while they're off, and for anyone else who's free during the day.

Adults are welcome too, whether you're starting from scratch or getting back into it.

It suits the learning as well. During term, lessons run once a week. Over the holidays they can run much closer together, so less is forgotten in between and things move along faster.

The same price as weekly lessons, just for the holidays

Holiday lessons are charged at the ongoing weekly lesson rate, not the higher casual rate. Casual lessons are normally $45 for 30 minutes, so these are $10 a lesson less than usual.

The difference is that there's nothing ongoing to set up. No regular weekly time to hold in the timetable, no autopay, and nothing to sort out once the holidays finish. You pay for each lesson as you go, and you book the ones you want. That's it.

Every sixth lesson is free.

Book five and the sixth is on me, then it starts again, so ten paid lessons gets you twelve.

Whatever lesson length you book, the free one is the same length. Free lessons count on lessons taught rather than lessons booked, and each one comes at the end of its six.

Already Having Weekly Lessons?

Holiday lessons are extra lessons on top of your regular time, not a replacement for it. A good chance to get ahead over the break.

Your first holiday lesson is freeIf you keep your regular lesson running through the break, taking no more than the standard Christmas and New Year fortnight off. Just get in touch to book it in.
Free lessons come faster for youAs a thank you for being an ongoing student, any further holiday lessons earn a free lesson faster than the standard every sixth:
Every 3rd freeweekly students
Every 4th freefortnightly students

Ongoing Weekly Lessons

Ongoing lessons run every week, school holidays included, not just during term. The only standard break is the Christmas and New Year fortnight. They start with a free trial lesson.

If you do the holiday lessons and decide you'd like to keep going, that's possible too, though it would need to be a time that works once school goes back, which for most students means after school or in the evening.

Either way there are only a limited number of ongoing spots open, so if it's something you're considering it's worth saying early in the break rather than at the end of it.
