About Me

I discovered a love of drumming at the age of seven, and that passion has stayed with me ever since. Over the years, I developed my skills through private lessons, dedicated practice, and formal study, eventually completing a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at the Jazz Music Institute in 2016, where I studied intensively under highly respected drummer Dave Sanders.

Dave played an important role in my development as a drummer. I first had a memorable lesson with him as a child, then studied with him again as a teenager while preparing for my Year 12 music performances, and later at university as part of my degree. The way he taught gave me greater confidence in my playing and encouraged me to pursue music more seriously as a career.

Today, I bring 30 years of drumming experience, over 15 years of gigging experience across a range of styles, and over a decade of teaching experience working with students of different ages and levels. I have taught professionally at Sono School of Music since 2016 and at Rivermount College since 2023, while continuing to perform regularly around South East Queensland develop my own home studio.

I feel very grateful to be able to share something I’ve loved for so long, and to help students build confidence, enjoyment, and real progress on the drums.

Qualifications

My qualifications reflect both formal training and the professional requirements involved in teaching drums to children and adults.
